Having had to hobble on crutches and in pain past miles (ok, an
exaggeration) of empty handicapped spaces to get to and from work
after a hip operation, my sympathy is extremely lacking. I count that
as pain handicapped activists have inflicted on me, and for that I
hope their privileged spaces are filled all the time.

Nope, handicapped spaces are special pleading.
