   Some of you may know by now that  Philadelphia-born saxophonist   
   Michael Brecker is in the midst of a desparate search for a bone   
   marrow donor.   
      
   A bone marrow donor drive will be held October 30th in Elkins Park   
   (near Philadelphia)  from 10:00am until 3:00 pm at Reform Congregation   
   Keneseth Israel, 8339 Old York Road. Likely matches will be of Eastern   
   european Jewish descent.   
      
   It is necessary for the donor and recipient to have  genetic markers   
   which match abd the basic cell typs must be nearly identical.  Sadly,   
   none of Michael's immediate family members have met these criteria.   
      
   If you live in the Philadelphia area, please try to be tested.   I   
   understand the procedure is relatively painless.
