   I would be surprised if Windows 98 supports firewire cards. Windows 98 doesn't   
   even   
   support USB. You might be able to do this if you upgraded to Win 98 SE, but I   
   am not   
   sure. You might try checking Microsoft's web site to see if there is any   
   information   
   there on this subject. Another good way to verify this is to check with the   
   manufacturer of the firewire card you are considering buying. Look on the   
   manufacturer's web site for compatibility information.
