I realize that there is pollution and is a by-product of industrialization.
   The
level at which you find intolerable, yet far below the levels of 4 & 5 decades
   ago.

   Support his candidacy then......

Write or call Senator McCain and see what you can do other than whine.

   >And in the past many people died from typhoid fever which doesn't mean

Your fear factor indicates that you need to live in a glass bubble.

Have you considered how the steel industry has been hurt with clean air
   standards?
Then realize what other competing countries spew into the atmosp
   ere........Oh, yes,
there is a delicate balance that you are being impractical about.

   >Well I still think other

   Broad brush..........

Go ahead, but you will have little impact on usenet. If you are really
   concerned
about pollution and the crime in your neighborhood, you would become active
   and join
   block watch and environmental groups.

   >and living in Pittsburgh in 1956 and so your
   >rationale makes no sense.

It does, but you wish to close your eyes and shake your head "no".

   >If more people smoked cigarettes in the 60s then
   >they do now, should we say that smoking is no longer dangerous or its an
   >error to suggest that many people are still getting sick? BRAINO? Duh?

The amount of smokers is irrelevent. And smoking cigarettes is a life choice,
   just
as it is for you to remain or move from Philadelphia.

   >> My offer still stands, I will help you move out of Philly since you are
   paranoid
   >> about shootings and pollution.

   >Crime and pollution are real problems in Philly and many people are moving
   >because of it.

Then take the hint and follow their lead........

   >Saying you don't agree by calling me paranoid, does not help
   >fix the problems..

I do believe you are paranoid. Regardless, placing labels as to my sexual
orientation is irrelevent and does not increase your credibility one iota.

Posting in usenet doesn't fix the problem either. If you were really
   interested in
making change you would take suggestions from myself and others, becoming
involved in organizations that can make a difference.
