   It may very well have happened but it was then considered illegal.  An   
   inJustice Department official claiming that it is legal is a very different   
   situation entirely.  That's offering the color of law to an illegal act.  I   
   also note the implication that it's inherently part of presidential   
   authority under the Constitution (read the Constitution folks, it's not   
   there) that some "pundits" raise.  It's incredibly sad that people will   
   accept an obvious illegal act in the name of fighting terrorists even when   
   there are other legal alternatives like trials.

   It's now unclear whether or not that was.  What was part of the deal though   
   was removing nuclear weapons from Turkey, in fact that was basically the   
   act the US agreed to.
