   Harold Myerson in the Washington Post makes some rather key points   
   concerning the need for investment in the jobs of the middle class.  He   
   points out that unions and the like are key to US continuing its status as   
   a nation of the middle class.  It's notable incidentally that he mentions   
   that corporations are opposed to the things that would keep a middle class
