How do you       > let a guy go when you have three people saying the same thing?              Juries are only supposed to consider the lawful evidence presented to that       jury and individuals are only supposed to be convicted of crimes that the       individual confesses to, or those a jury finds evidence convincing beyond a       reasonable doubt. That's a high standard. Most jury trials with no       conviction are the result of the prosecution failing in one way or another,       either to not pay attention to likely innocence or failing to present       enough evidence.              As for three people making the same claim, I suggest you consider that       police often present the same individual as a suspect to victims if it's       stranger rape. The strongest rape cases are where the victim knew the       rapist quite well and there is little chance of mis-identification,       fortunately that also covers most rape cases. I can't think of one       innocent man later freed in cases where the victim knew the man accused.              People are supposed to be convicted of the crimes the individual in question       has committed, not crimes that the individual may have committed.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
