   This is where you loose me because this just smacks of defeatism and cowardice.   
   Can't resolve problems easily? Just run.

   It's a double edged sword, can't you see that?   
   All of my growing up years, and yours too(I would imagine)   
   Phila was IGNORED by the media.   
      
   Now for a variety of reasons(some having to do with stuff   
   you're not  involved in yourself  like  high culture),   
   people(from places as close as New York) have "discovered"   
   Phila. They've found out that it's cosmopolitan in   
   ways they had no clue of.   
      
   What that means is that we get more attention including   
   all the bad stuff like the murder rate which, once again,   
   primarily involves a certain group of people.

   There are thousands of Mexicans(we NEVER had Mexicans in Phila.   
   before) who have shown up in the last few years. Ask them.

   Do you read/see anything beyond the scare news? Just read the Phila.   
   Business Journal or the just the business section of the   
   Inquirer. Just look at any website for colleges/univ   
   and go to the human resources links. People are dying   
   for jobs here. Our big challenge is to create more   
   for people like this so they will stay.
