Oh Geez, it isn't hushed up to the tune of 15 k plus murders and 1/2
million rapes or attempted rapes .Many societies , people go where ever they
want and when they want to and they don't lock their doors and murder is
something visiting GI's do when they come to visit. What is it about a
society that can't own up to a simple logical argument about protecting its
own citizen from crime and fear of crime. What is it about a society that
would rather watch crime unfold and watch people kill others then
practically anything else in life and they can't seem to get to the next
logical step .- What to do about it. We are so into accepting the status quo
, this diversity of different people and cultures, we fail to realize we
also are accepting too easily the diversity of dsyfunctional values along
with it. We are desensitized to violence which makes it too easy to see
violence as a choice for everything when things go awry. Its a sick
commentary when we can't protect our own kids from violence or poverty and
yet we are supporting half the world with false bravado. Well intentioned no
less, but we simply don't own up to our own problems .Its not that we are
giving away the ship , its that we havent even begun to understand why its
important to save our own fleet.in good working order.
