   I'll take that "you" to mean collectively, not just me personally,   
   because I'm not so selfish as to think of just myself.   
      
   I can't marry another woman in this state.  And even if I could, we   
   couldn't file a joint federal income tax return.  If I were young enough   
   to enlist, I wouldn't be allowed to.   
      
   If my grandson had been living in Kansas, he would have been forced to   
   be taught about creationism (AKA "Intelligent Design") instead of real   
   science.   
      
   In Florida, I am not allowed to adopt a child.   
      
   Women's rights to choose to have an abortion are restricted to one   
   degree or another in many states.  Doctors in many states are required   
   to provide false and misleading information to women seeking abortion.   
      
   I understand why you are ashamed to be associated with these religious   
   whackos, but instead of hysterically proclaiming that they have no   
   influence, you should be out there, fighting to remove their influence.
