The cost has been calculated out several times and comes to something
on the order of $40 per person per trip. Of course, that "person"
isn't paying it out of their own pocket, a big chunk is paid for from
the taxes collected on farmers in Iowa, and auto workers in Flint, and
closer to home, retiree's in Sun Lakes who will never ride on it. As
to pollution, buried in the environmental report for it, and I do mean
buried, is the answer,... building light rail adds slightly to the
overall pollution level in the state.

I will ask you the same challenge I ask all supporters, show me
anyplace in the US where "transit" has solved their congestion
problem. Is Manhattan now uncongested and a pleasure to drive in? How
about Portland, SF, DC and on and on. All LR does is perpetuate the
further densification of cities so the people who are already
millionaires making money off the existing density can make even more
money of even greater density. And fools, I hate to say this, like
you, willingly pay your tax money to fund their scheme.

Just as an example, I've lost track of how many people who will never
use LR EXCEPT for going to a couple sports events during the year,
support it so they can save 45 minutes each of the three times they
go. The fact that it's costing them thru the nose is lost on them.
