   Do you have a reading-comprehension problem, Leslie? You're the one who
   implied that the term is insulting. If you consider it insulting, that's
   your problem.

   America as a whole. I understand that there are some subgroups who object
   to it, but they are mostly extreme right-wing fundamentalist Christians;
   the people whom you most resemble.

   Yup; "gay" == "homosexual".

   > Is the word homosexual too honest for you?

   They're both honest, but "gay" is easier to type.

   It's not a childish device; it's simply a statement. And, no I'm not
   trying to insult you. After all, the study that I referenced in the
   original message of this thread shows that there is scientific proof that
   homophobia is linked to repressed homosexuality.

   And since you're demonstrably homophobic, you're undoubtedly repressing
   your latent homosexuality. So I'm encouraging you to stop repressing it,
   and acknowledge it. It is OK to be gay, or if it makes you feel less
   threatened, it's ok to be homosexual.
