XPost: ba.politics, dc.media, soc.penpals       XPost: alt.burningman       From: assholes@sfmayor.org              A South Elgin motorist is accused of firing a gun from his car -       - across the body of his wife seated next to him in the       passenger seat -- and hitting another vehicle during an apparent       road rage incident on I-355 last week, according to DuPage       County prosecutors.              Vaughn Atkins 42, appeared in bond court Wednesday, charged with       two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm for the incident       which took place March 21 in the southbound lanes of the tollway       near Ogden Avenue, according to authorities.              Judge Richard Russo set bail at $200,000.              Atkins, of the 1400 block of South Blackhawk Circle, was       apparently angered when another motorist cut him off in traffic       around 5:45 p.m. and forced him onto the shoulder of the roadway.              Authorities say he caught up to the motorist and fired a gun,       striking the other car in the rear door on the passenger’s side.              Atkins’ wife and two children were with him, prosecutors said,       and he reportedly instructed his wife to lower her window and       lean back so he could shoot through the passenger’s side window.              The other motorist was not injured.              Following the shooting, Atkins then is alleged to have exited       the tollway. Following an investigation, Atkins was arrested       without incident Monday at his home, prosecutors said.              “I can’t begin to imagine the damage that could have been done       had a bullet allegedly fired by Mr. Atkins hit the driver of       another vehicle during rush hour traffic on a major expressway,”       State’s Atty. Robert Berlin said.              Atkins is scheduled to appear in court April 28 for arraignment.              chicagobreaking@tribune.com              Twitter: @ChicagoBreaking              http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/suburbs/elgin/chi-       prosecutors-man-with-wife-and-kids-in-car-shot-at-other-vehicle-       in-road-rage-20140326,0,6177347.story                             --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
