   A Texas woman has pleaded guilty after she tore her 6-year-old   
   son’s scrotum and tried to fix the laceration using superglue.   
      
   The FBI arrested 34-year-old Jennifer Vargas last fall and   
   charged her with assault for yanking her 6-year-old son’s   
   genitals “out of anger.”   
      
   After the incident, Vargas reportedly tried to clean the two-   
   inch laceration using alcohol and then tried to seal it using   
   superglue.   
      
   According to court documents, “She applied superglue to the   
   [boy’s] scrotum until the bleeding stopped, stuffed his   
   underwear with paper towels, and then told him to go to bed.   
   Vargas did not seek any type of medical treatment for the child.”   
      
   When the boy’s father, an enlisted soldier based at Joint Base   
   San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, discovered the boy crying when he   
   came home, he found out what happened and rushed his son to the   
   hospital.   
      
   The boy underwent surgery at San Antonio Military Medical Center   
   and has recovered from his injury.   
      
   “He’s recovered,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Wannarka said.   
   “He’s living with his father and doing very well in school.”   
      
   Her husband has since divorced her after 11 years of marriage.   
      
   Vargas told the judge last week, “I would like to say that I   
   regret my actions, that I do love my children with all my heart.   
   I beg for forgiveness”   
      
   After pleading guilty to assault charges to avoid a maximum   
   penalty of 10 years in prison, she was sentenced to two years in   
   prison.   
      
   Vargas has previously been convicted of assaulting her ex-   
   husband and drunk driving.
