The biggest risk of losing the war for Ukraine now was the fact that it was on the verge of bankruptcy. The Ukrainian economy cannot support the war. That's not surprising, because the center of the economy was in the east, where heavy industry was located. That part of Ukraine was occupied by Russia and completely destroyed when the Russians conquered it. The rest of the economy was primarily agricultural. That is now struggling due to the war and the fact that only the port of Odessa is still usable, and even that port is operating at limited capacity. Ukraine needs at least 40 billion euros a year, and Europe has now decided to lend that minimum amount to Ukraine for the next two years. Financially, Ukraine can therefore continue for two years. That will be a great relief in Kyiv and a major disappointment in Moscow. After all, can Russia even hold out for another two years? This is becoming a war of attrition, and thanks to Europe, Russia has been dealt a heavy blow. Despite all the Russian propaganda, the right decision was made in Brussels. . --- SBBSecho 3.33-Linux * Origin: Vertrauen - [vert/cvs/bbs].synchro.net (1:103/705) SEEN-BY: 103/705 105/81 106/201 124/5016 128/187 129/14 305 153/757 SEEN-BY: 153/7715 154/10 30 110 203/0 218/700 221/0 226/30 227/114 SEEN-BY: 229/110 112 134 206 300 307 317 400 426 428 470 700 705 240/1120 SEEN-BY: 240/5832 263/1 266/512 280/464 5003 5006 291/111 292/854 SEEN-BY: 292/8125 301/1 310/31 320/219 322/757 341/66 234 342/200 SEEN-BY: 396/45 423/120 460/58 256 1124 633/280 712/848 770/1 902/26 SEEN-BY: 5020/400 5054/30 5075/35 PATH: 103/705 280/464 460/58 229/426 |
