*Laugh*  What makes you think that a national school board would be MORE
responsive to parents?

The purpose of keeping school control local was so that the schools would be
more responsive to parents.

In Michigan, schools used to be funded through millages.  These were taxes that
voters could approve or not.  Schools had to stay on the parent's good side
because if they pissed them off, they would vote down the millages and the
schools had less money.

Then the Lefties changed things and made the schools funded by the State.  Now
the schools just thumb their noses at the parents when they complain.

A national version of this would only be far worse.  At least now, we can vote
them out easily.
