It sounds like this fallback AT> system for when a majority is lost is not so great afterall because it AT> puts more reliance on other parties, which would never, ever work in the AT> USA, so how could it work in Canada? (It can't.) AT> In Canada if the Party in power is a minority... I tried to look it up but I gave up... there minority seating arrangement is only by a couple seats. The party in power usually work with others to pass legislation. These minority governments don't usually last long... 18 months or so... before an other election is called. Justin Trudeau's last term was a minority government and he was able to do what he wanted because he had talked the NDP (The AOC Party) to help him out. The leader of that party wanted his pension (MTG Style) so he went along. After he was eligible for his pension they called an election. In comes Carney. To be honest if Trump didn't bust Trudeau's balls over the 51 State thing the Conservatives would have won... There are a lot of Rosie O'Donnell(s) and Robert De Niro(s) in Canada. I LOLd but I knew the left would be running around with their hair on fire. Now we have Mark Carney for a few months more... Pray for Canada!!! AT> This reminds me of how NY has 2 (supposedly) right-wing parties: We have AT> the NY GOP and the NY Conservative party. Sounds like we'd have a lot of AT> great minds working together to help the state. right? Hell no. Both AT> parties are corrupt, neither party produces good candidates, and neither AT> party answers emails nor phonecalls. (See the pattern?) AT> AT> Do they have that in Florida? (My guess is no!) AT> Canada and the US are no different in that there is a political spectrum that people are in. In the US, for the most part, there is a 2 party system. Each party have their center majority and then their more fringe AOC/MTG. All are suppose to get along and work together for the end goal of insider trading or whatever it is they do. Canada has several parties Far left (NDP) center left Liberal (This is a LIE) center right Conservative far right Wild Rose Party. <--- This party doesn't exist any more. Your State has a problem if there are 2 conservative parties. It splits the vote and the Democrats walk into power every time there is an election. Florida there are just 2 parties. Most Florida is Red, larger city centers Blue. There was a time where Florida was considered a swing state... But since Trump's election and Ron DeSantis being Governor Florida will not be swinging anywhere for awhile. I prefer the US's style, it is what it is, but the politics as of late sucks with the left hating everything and everyone... Anyway. Go RED Team if you're in the US, Go BLUE if you're in Canada!!!
