Sounds like autism focused in a non-productive way.

Even before I realized I was on the autistic spectrum, I realized that I could,
with some effort, get myself to focus on a topic of my choice.  Once I mastered
that, I could focus hard on something productive (like building new software
that I got paid for).


... A career is a job that takes about 20 more hours a week.
