Following Carney's speech, Trump announced a 100% tariff on all goods from
Canada. With that, Trump instantly gave Carney's speech all the weight it
could get. After all, Canada and the US have trade deals, and Trump
essentially tore them apart with his 100% tariff announcement. This clearly
demonstrates that ANY deal with the US is worthLESS, because the president
can, for whatever reason, decide to devalue them. Good luck with those 100%
tariffs, by the way. That's practically impossible, and the US is far too
dependent on Canadian goods to make it worthwhile. So I'm 100% certain those
100% tariffs won't happen. Trump was bluffing like a toddler, and everyone
knows it. He might as well have said one hundred thousand three million, like
real toddlers do.
