Well, the Pullmans (2000s) and first order of Budds (144 in the 2200s)
had unforced ventilation. That wasn't adequate given the heavier cars, so
CTA spec'ed forced air ventilation for the traction motors on the Boeing-
Vertol cars (2400s), which sucked in snow that awful winter. But it didn't
draw from the top.
