Not necssary, it added over 6 megs of messages to that area.  I have to get in
and see if I can trim it back.  The only way to do that is to delete the
directory that the message are in.  Even deleting messsage one by one does not
compress the area.  Have had problem with this reader for years, I can't purge
messages and pack the area anymore.

Eventually I'll just have to wait for a slow period and just delete
directories.
