To: johnl@iecc.com * In a message originally to Allen Prunty, John Levine said: JL> Recent reports say that the data recorder in the engine is an old JL> model that didn't work, not clear if they've gotten the one in JL> the cab car since the site is still hazardous. Seems like they would have updated that recorder a long time ago... I now that municipal cities are not the best with finances and are hurting, but some things need to be replaced. I wonder if this will play a factor in the mess. Was the train a municipal line, a national line or a state line? JL> The engineer said the train was going 10 mph as it approached the JL> station. No reports of misbehavior or medical problems. He was employed for a very long time too... I would say he was competent and would be a good employee to have been employed nearly 30 years. This one is a mystery... I know that they were cutting back on payroll by only having one engineer. Until then we just have to play the waiting game :-( Allen --- * Origin: LiveWire BBS - Telnet://livewirebbs.com (1:2320/100) |
