The newly elected Republicans are talking about a revolution in
deregulation.  Will PTC be dropped?  Other railroad safety regulations?

Historical note:  in the late 1940s, there were a number of nasty
train wrecks, overall all, hundreds of people were killed (see separate
thread on speed control).  It was that experience that motivated many
of the regulations we have today.
