I emailed CNN during their broadcast because they had their facts wrong. One
reporter stated that the engineer would have been in the locomotive, (the LAST
car), as it pulled in the station and they said that he was slumped over the
controls. I told them that they needed to make sure that their facts were
correct becase the engineer would always be in the FIRST car going forward so
he could see ahead of him for signals, objects on the tracks ect. He would be
in a control compartment operating the train and be the first car to hit the
bumper and go off the track. The train would be PUSH mode going into the
station and in PULL mode going out.
Perhaps someone else heard this also. They only claimed this once.
