Thanks Hal, that's what I thought. Actually, it's the same in an
automobile. Anyone remember getting into a new (to you) car with very
efficient power brakes? A slight tap at 10 mph might put you through the
windshield save for the seat belt. The same tap or even a good stomp
won't do the same at 70.

Heck, I've been on streetcars in San Francisco that threw everyone
asunder on braking from 30 mph or so.

What got me on the Silver Lariat was that the transition to braking was
so subtle that it went unnoticed by most passengers. Only those with a
lot of experience knew what happened immediately.
