This story from a Little Rock TV station
http://www.thv11.com/story/news/local/2014/08/18/hoxie-train-col
ision-names-released/14242249/
has the names of the deceased, and says they were both on a southbound
train from East St. Louis to North Little Rock.

The northbound train crew was injured; their train was northbound from
North Little Rock to East St. Louis.

An earlier story from the same source has a little more information on
the fire and evacuations:

w-about-hoxie-train-collision/14213051/

I can't find anything on ntsb.gov yet, other than a picture of an NTSB
investigator carrying the event recorder box from the lead southbound
engine (UP 9707). The NTSB also posted this picture to Twitter:

http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/LocoPicture.aspx?id=32150 says UP 9707
is a GE C44-9W, built in 1994.

Looking at satellite images, there appears to be a rather long siding -
about 5 miles - through Hoxie and Walnut Ridge, AR. The siding starts
at about Front Street and US 67 south of Hoxie, and ends close to where
AR 34 goes under US 67 north of Walnut Ridge.
