Yeah, but UK, France and Germany are a miniscule part of the rest of the
world. Actually the availability of CDMA is so pervasive that cellular
handset companies are producing some serious dual system phones. It is
possible that GSM exclusivity is purely a subset of Europe phenomenon.
My experience in Asia does not indicate exclusive use of GSM at all.
