Is there anywhere on this line in this area, say between 30th street station and the accident site, where there is a speed limit of 100 mph or higher? Could the engineer have somehow become confused as to where he was, and was was not expecting to enter the curve? Maybe he was confused and believed he was heading Southbound instead. Is the speed limit on tracks going South of 30th St. higher ?? --- SoupGate/W32 v1.03 * Origin: LiveWire BBS -=*=- UseNet FTN Gateway (1:2320/1) |
