From: muratlanne@gmail.com              "Bob La Londe" wrote in message news:v4dk0p$222gn$1@dont-email.me...              I'd like to have a couple sets of 8 inch parallels. Sixes work, but       sometimes I can't see when one end is over the gap in the vise bed.              I've got lots of 6 inchers. Think, thin, and a couple sets of regulars.              I don't need a bunch of sizes, so I guess make them is not out of the       question. I'm not particularly skilled with the surface grinder, but I       have one.              Bob La Londe       --------------------------------------       If you have a (granite?) surface plate to check them on you can detect and       correct grinding errors.              This is the owners manual for mine:       https://www.mikestools.com/download/Delta-Parts-Lists/Rockwell-D       lta-Toolmaker-Surface-Grinding-Machine-PM-408-01-651-5003-08-15-67.pdf              I've also run a Brown & Sharpe, which was generally similar. The Toolmaker       sacrifices some precision and surface finish for versatility, usually a       grinder head is more rigid. I found the swivel table for it, for sharpening       taps etc between dead centers. That's why the head can swivel. The British       Quorn cutter grinder has a nearly identical head arrangement and I've       collected accessories to duplicate some of its functions.       https://www.hemingwaykits.com/category-68              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
