That was more a show of my frustration with the craptacular quality of
this machine than an actual expectation the tank will explode.

That being said, LPS3 is some good stuff. I remember when it was
introduced at a trade show and the demo guy kept spraying it into a
corded electric drill and then operating it under water in a tank. Mid
70s maybe. I am sure he took every other trick to be "safe" like rubber
soled shoes, isolated tank, etc, but still it looked impressive.

As long as the drill was grounded he was protected, I doubt the LPS-3 made
any difference. 240V electric water heater elements corrode open a without
causing shock when you shower. I replaced one for a neighbor who complained
his water was boiling hot, the element housing had opened and current
through the water was bypassing the thermostat, from one leg to grounded
   plumbing.

LPS-3 isn't perfect, rain and tire splash wash it off clean metal and it's
not much help on aluminum, but it has kept my 2000 car and 1991 truck intact
and the undercarriage bolts I could reach to spray still unscrew.

There used to be a state fair con in which the salesman dripped his magic
go-juice into the carb of an idling car, which revved up with a roar. The
trick was to lean the mixture until it would barely run, and turn up the
idle to make it seem normal. Anything combustible added to the carb would
richen the mixture, then the the high idle setting let it rev up.
