If this one of yours is what I think it is you'll       end up fabricating a nes crank shaft and bushing the case . Gears may       need some buildup/re-cutting if it's got a lot of hours .       Snag              ------------------------------       It seems to be in pretty good condition except that something chatters and       increases resistance when it turns fast. The gears look good and have little       backlash, which I checked before buying it. It may need only the fan shaft       bicycle-type ball bearings snugged up, that's reportedly a wear area and has       a takeup screw. Others wrote that disassembly needs special tools that can       be made on a lathe, if you have one. Maybe the previous owner didn't, I       think the artistic blacksmithing ethic precludes them. If I can get ahead on       my monthly 10GB data allowance I'll look at some videos.              Personally I feel that text and line drawings can be more informative than       most of the how-to videos I've seen. Maybe that's because I've had training       and job experience as a draftsman. Haynes and Chiltons car repair manuals       use photos, the factory manuals have drawings.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
