   What is the Canadian explanation for that chain of lakes running northwest   
   from the Great Lakes to the Yukon? Wiki claims they were scooped out by the   
   last glaciers. I wonder if the glaciers merely scooped fill from existing   
   depressions. The Monteregian hills are at the start of a line of depressions   
   and volcano remains running into the Atlantic at Portsmouth NH and ending at   
   a hot spot off Africa.
