      Other than in a very few countries, pure DXM is legal. And in those   
   countries people can either swill cough syrup, or extract. It occured to   
   me why he may not hear about it much in the UK. DXM doesn't tend to be a   
   street drug, thus you won't knowingly encounter it very much at clubs,   
   etc. DXMers tend to do it privately in their own homes. It may also be   
   the the UK media is engaging in a conspiracy of silence, and not   
   reporting about DXM so as not to increase use. The US has a different   
   media culture.
