      Its been used earlier than that. The late rock critic Lester Bangs was   
   quoted that in 1968 he wrote an unpublished book called "Drug Punk" about   
   drinking Romilar cough syrup. William White makes some mention of 1960s DXM   
   use in the FAQ.

      Yeah, if they know about DXM then they could easily find the brands if I
