   Emulation aside, the appeal of the VC is supposed to be comparison of   
   scores among friends. That goes a ways towards explaining the choice of   
   available games too, as a lot of the RPG and stranger platform titles   
   don't really have any kind of numerical mechanism to measure progress.

   Even better than emulation? I happen to own one of the old Honeybee floppy   
   drive units that plugs into the top of a first-run Megadrive.   
   Incidentally, that Xbox emulator is a port of one of the better PC   
   versions, GENS if I'm not mistaken.
