   It is/was the primary method of playing imports on a domestic machine.   
   It required a slide card or flip top case replacement (I think there may   
   have been an option that was less than replacing the entire case with   
   the slim PS2), and there were different discs for PS1 and PS2 games.   
   I've never used it, so I speak only from second hand info.
