|    PSU XB360 Demo - Disappointed :\    |

XPost: alt.games.phantasy-star       From: shinnokxz@charter.net              I had held off trying PSU and I am glad I did- the demo they recently       released on XBL presented me a game I would not have enjoyed at all. I       am a PSOv1 DCer from 2001 (GameFAQs represent yo) so dabbling into this       experience was anything but what I expected from the franchise. Now       realize I was a pretty healthy WoW player from about Nov. 2004 to Sept.       2006 (and WoW got pretty much every aspect you have to get right in a       MMORPG right), and a lot of this game seems like it tries to throw an       overbearing, over-complicated 'WoW' type 'world' at the player... even       in the Demo everything seemed to unnecessarily expansive.              Not to mention the game is fairly ugly, which otherwise would actually       help me swallow the pill a bit better and coax me to actually go explore       the areas open to me, but I was disappointed to see that I couldn't even       argue that any of the Dreamcast versions of PSO looked any less than       this, because honestly they didn't. I tried the level where you are       going through an expanse of ruined spacestation tunnels? They were       boring, drab and left very little to the imagination- something I       celebrated with the old PSOs.              Can't blame Sega for trying to cash in on the the 'Golf' of society,       MMORPGS. But it will take a whole lot more than this to nab subscribers       from Blizzard.       --       Shinnokxz - http://www.coryhansen.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
