   The real Ferrari 355 requires heel-toe driving and an appreciation for   
   real-wheel drive bias. Once you understand that the high-speed directional   
   changes are handled with the brakes and not with the steering wheel,   
   you're less likely to lose control around the corners. That applies to the   
   sim as well. As the vast majority of consumer cars are front-wheel drive   
   and front engine, this isn't a commonly used method of driving.   
      
   I say this like I drive a Ferrari every day. :) My fun car is a Toyota   
   MR2, which is like one-fourth of a Ferrari. The same principles apply,   
   without quite as much power or expense.

   I prefer a third person view in my driving games as well, but I'm willing   
   to put up with the F355 view because it's such a thorough sim. Rather than   
   applying one game engine to a variety of cars, Sega went and simulated one   
   vehicle really, really well. Of course, as we've all discovered an exact   
   simulation doesn't always make for a consistently entertaining game.
