From: bel@whipassgaming.com              > I'm sure I've seen a stick for the Xbox that looks identical to the       > Sega DC stick              Oh yeah, no I don't question it, I'm just saying I've not seen it       personally(it's probably my distaste for the whole arcade stick).              > The system is indeed similar to Groove on Fight which I also had on       > the Saturn.              I was damn good, wasn't it? I mean, it was unbalanced, and the Super       system was abuse-able to no end, but still a lot of fun. I still wish I       knew what some of the endings talked about...even though I'm sure I       still wouldn't understand it. ;)                     > However, not quite the same. While GoF user a multi-plane       > system, I seem to recall action only takes place on one plane at a       > time, and the other plane is for your resting character.              Yeah, that's how it went. You could call your partner out to either       attempt to hit your opponent, or to initiate the double attack super.              > In Isuka,       > action takes place on both planes AT THE SAME TIME. So at any time you       > can have from 0 to 4 characters on a single plane going at it.              Holy shit, like the double attack supers in the original Marvel vs Capcom!?              > It gets       > quite confusing, especially since it's not always easy to       > differentiate between the planes. Also, the high speed of Isuka makes       > it too chaotic with 4 characters hoping back and forth between planes,       > and you only controlling one of them.              Oy, yeah, that sound far to hectic to be enjoyable. I think it worked       with MvsC1 because it was only initiated for a short period of time,       then it went back to one on one fighting.              > Speaking of Groove on Fight, Noise Factory released sort of the sequel       > to that series, Shin Gouketsuji Ichizoku for the PS2 in May of last       > year, but it uses the traditional single plane system.              Sounds interesting. Is it a sort of sequel in that it uses a similar       fighting engine, or that it actually uses the same characters as well?              > I'm opposite. I didn't like 3 at all. SNK is going nuts re-releasing       > all their 2D fighters on the PS2. Other than the Real Bout series I       > think every single SNK 2D fighter is on the system.              That's great. I mean, no offense to the NG owners, but it was always       more of a pipe dream than anything else to me. Even when I had my NGCD       unit, it wasn't *that* great...and I'd not of bought it had SNK/Playmore       released these compilations at the time. MAME is a suitable alternative,       but I do miss the console additions(options screens, artwork, music       tests, etc) that the various console ports have allowed for.              Bel       --       Whip Ass Gaming: http://www.whipassgaming.com/              "It's at times like these the great heaven knows       That we wish we had not so many clothes."        - Adam Ant, Strip              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
