   The Mega CD unit requires its own power supply. If I recall correctly, the   
   Mark 1 uses the same AC adapter as the original megadrive (10 volts,   
   positive sheath, negative tip.) Also, note that the connection to the Mark   
   1 Megadrive isn't complete without the stereo mixing cable between the   
   headphone jack and the audio input. Once you get it working, you hit the   
   reset button on the Megadrive to open the CD tray. Hope that helps you
