         As far as understand it, the PS2 loads the games at the exact same   
   speed as the original Playstation for compatibility reasons, unless you   
   set the menu option to speed it up (which sometimes crashes the game).   
   If these games were loading at 24x, I would certainly not be getting 22   
   second load times on original PS games still.  Even with the option   
   turned on it only saves a few seconds.
