   That's what I am trying to say, the PS2 doesn't affect all games even   
   with the option on, but it affects none of the games with the option   
   off. I have my PS1 right here and I just plugged it in to confirm that   
   the load times are the same through it. The PS2 would have produced   
   massive incompatibility problems if it was running its drive at any   
   faster than 2X. The new speed option only introduces drive cache to the   
   equation (like the Saturn had), it doesn't make the disk spin faster as   
   far as I can tell.
