XPost: alt.games.video.xbox, alt.games.video.sony-playstation2,        lt.games.video.sony-playstation3       XPost: microsoft.public.xbox       From: JBDragon@comcast.net              Right now you can buy a Stand Alone HD DVD player in the magical $299 price       point with the instant $100 rebate, plus the 5 free movies. HD DVD is       blowing away Blu-Ray in the Stand Alone players. Not to mention most of       those Blu-Ray players won't be compatible with the finalized Java stuff       later in October from what I hear. Blu-Ray was rushed to the marketplace       before it was finalized unlike HD DVD, but Blu-Ray couldn't just wait around       while HD DVD took over the marketplace and Blu-Ray dies before it even has a       chance, except now there will be a bunch of pissed off Blu-Ray owners that       won't be able to access all the content on the discs. Movies already       released on HD DVD long ago when the Blu-Ray version finally get's       released, like Batman Begins and The Matrix Collection, ect. Waiting for       Blu-Ray to be finalized, and sorry to say, not all Blu-Ray players will be       upgradable. Hell a Ethernet port is still not Standard in the final Blu-Ray       standards, so you may not even be able to download Extra features in a Movie       either. The PS3 is a lame Blu-Ray Movie player in the fact it doesn't       even have a IR port! Those with a single remote to control everything       simply, well you need the special Blue Tooth Sony Remote also, LAME!              How about this, even though there's more Blu-Ray players out there because       of the PS3, the new Planet Earth that was released on HD DVD and Blu Ray at       the SAME TIME. HD DVD sold more copies, but by a huge amount, but just       shows more HD DVD Movies are being sold in general. With the Matrix being       released Next week, that should be a huge boost. Blu-Ray has to what until       LATE this year.              Why buy a PS3? Doesn't play in HD on my HDTV since mine is a 1080i CRT set       with no 720P support. 720P only games get dropped to 480P, What's the       point? What games does it have that's any good? Anything to look forward       to later this year? Not really, but there's a bunch for the 360. Oh and       having No rumble sucks!!! I'm also not a fan of a motion controller. They       just aren't very accurate and they get tiring to using after a while.                     "Kazimierez" |
