From: bel@whipassgaming.com              > If you said "Its probably Genesis ports of Sonic 1 and Golden Axe", you're       > partially correct. Its Genesis ports of Sonic 1 and Ecco.              Jeez, not even the Sega CD version of Ecco that had that amazing       soundtrack. What a waste.              > What is wrong       > with these people?              They're Sega.              > Why does Sega keep releasing the same "classic content"       > on every platform?              I'm guessing that like Capcom, Sega is just shit out of ideas. All they       have left is to republish stuff that was making them money years and       years ago. Thing is, it didn't work out the well for Capcom. I hear they       took a bath on those bullshit RE re-releases on the GC. Then, of course,       here they are doing it again on the Wii. Both the Capcom and Sega we       once knew are long, long dead.               > I'd fork out 5 bucks for Last Battle before I pay money       > for Sonic on 360. Let's see, I already own it on Genesis, I got it on the       > DC Sega Smash Pack, and I'm pretty sure its on the Genesis disc Sega       > released on PS2.              They've flooded the market with too many versions across too many       systems that have the games on them already. It'll be amusing to see how       shitty the sales numbers are on XBLA.              > This kind of crap really, really aggravates me. Is Sega this lazy?              Oh yeah. Have been since the death of the DC.              > Who       > doesn't already own Sonic 1?              I'm sure there's some kid out there, somewhere. Thing is, he's not going       to pay $5 for it when he can get TMNT for, what, $3 more?              > Are they just stupid?              Indeed.              > There's a crap load of       > Sega games I'd rather pay more for and play. How about a port of arcade       > Golden Axe 2?              You'd think they could be bothered to release both GA's via XBLA. As so       many companies are whoring out their property to Digital Eclipse to run       through they're Xbox-mame-cobulator, you'd think Sega would jump on       board. It's basically free money.              > How about a port of Shining Force 3?              Yeah, right. They can't even get a fucking Saturn emulator to work       properly on the PC...there's no way in fuck they're going to even       attempt it on the 360. That only leaves on option: Reprogram the entire       game. You know Sega, they're *way* too lazy for that.              > Heck, I'd pay 50 bucks       > for that. Maybe they could try getting the US rights to Dragon Force, and       > do some kind of simple online play.              Again, would take reprogramming the entire game, Sega won't do it. They       don't have the money to pay to have it done, and even if they did, this       is new Sega, not old Sega, and they aren't willing to take a chance on       shit nowadays.               > To get people pumped about VF5 and the       > new Sega Rally games, they could do ports of the original games. You know,       > just to let people know what they're about.              This is a possibility, and only because there are PC ports of the games       out there. The Model 2 emulator on the PC is running pretty well, but       you have to have a fuckload of power to run the games at full speed, and       even then most of the graphics are messed up. Doing a quick and dirty       port of the PC version is about the only option for Sega...and do you       really want one of those? ;)              > Is Sega just allergic to money? I can't believe how far this company has       > fallen....              They definitely suck hard donkey dick. Wears me out to no-end to see       just how far they've fallen(and continue to fall). I'd almost shed a       tear, but I'd have to care about new Sega in the least in order to do       so...;)              Bel       --       Whip Ass Gaming: http://www.whipassgaming.com/              "Time flies when you're kicking ass!"        - Duke in Duke Nukem: Time to Kill              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
