        I've always wondered how a controller with a cord could be   
   considered remote.  I think that people are just programmed that   
   anything in their hand controlling something on the TV is a remote.   
   Kinda like any video game they're playing is "Playing   
   Nintendo/Playstation" rather than playing a particular game, even if it   
   isn't on a Nintendo or Sony platform.  People also ask for a "Coke" here   
   in Texas and they mean Dr. Pepper.  Goofiness all around.
