   No.  There are many valid uses of crossposts, and it's both more   
   efficient and much more user-friendly than simply posting multiple   
   times.   
      
   Many asshats crosspost too, but the right solution is to ignore the   
   asshats.  This is something that _can't be automated_, because only the   
   readers can actually judge who they think is an asshat.  Indeed, for   
   readers, crossposting _helps_, because it offers more information -- if   
   a troll crossposts to rec.body-building (or whatever that sllly group   
   is), I know I probably don't want to read it, but if crossposts are   
   filtered, the trolls will simply continue posting without crossposts.   
      
   As for spam, killing crossposts, is simply not a solution, because   
   spammers can spam just as easily without crossposting.  A far better   
   solution is to simply use a good spam filtering packages that filters   
   soley on content (the one my work uses, and the one gmail uses seem to   
   be about 99.9% accurate).
