   No, he's saying that the solder joints have cracked. They can develop   
   tiny, barely visible ring cracks around the pin, causing frustratingly   
   intermittent connections. You take the unit apart where you can see the   
   bottom of the circuit board, and use a soldering iron to re-melt the   
   connections to the connectors.   
      
   I found a Genesis 2 once where about half of the connector pins had cold   
   solder joints. (controller ports, video port, AND power connectors)
