   The only thing I can think of is that these idiot kids sit there and   
   drop them on hard flooring or some other likely stuff.

   With the Xbox, it's likely that someone stacked another machine on   
   it...I know I have my DC stacked on top of mine.

   I think you'll be happy with the Xbox as a DVD player, assuming you're   
   not looking for anything over 480i(fucking MS never gave us the patch   
   for the Xbox to do 480p, fucking bastards). Once you mod your Xbox   
   though, you can force 480p output for DVD playback(as well as a whole   
   host of other fun things).

   I don't know that I'll ever mod my Xbox. At first it seemed pretty hip,   
   but after I hooked my PC up to my HDTV, that was just so much better. At   
   some point, when I get a new PC, I'll have this one hooked up to the   
   HDTV at all times, as sort of a multimedia box.
