From: bel@whipassgaming.com              > Just picked up the Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection disk for the 360.              Boo. ;)              > Yes, all these games have been released in one form or another on various       > emulated collections in the past. But there's a new developer, some outfit       > called Backbone that's using a different emulator than what Digital       > Eclipse has traditionally gone with.              Backbone is sort of the quality version of Digital Eclipse. Where DE       just sort of throws in some stock emulator and then leaves it at that,       Backbone actually optimizes and adds stuff to it. Remember, these are       the guys responsible for stuff like Commando 3, Super Puzzle Fighter HD       Remix, SSF2 HD Remix and the always-awesome version of 1942 that hit       XBLA and PSN.              > The 68000 and clock seem to be pretty       > faithfully emulated, hiccups and bugs and all. And there's now a smoothing       > graphical filter to make text look strange and screw up deliberate pixel       > art color choices. :)              On an HDTV, it really almost has to be there. It hurts my eyes to see 16       bit graphics on an HD display...especially when the shit is being shown       or upscaled to 1080 res.              > I have to say, the only reason I spent the thirty bucks was to get a legal       > copy of Golden Axe Warrior, which I've been itching to play ever since       > Beast Rider game home with me.              Thank God you said "Warrior" and not "Ax Battler"(I'd of shit my pants).       *No one* should have to pay for AB. ;)              > Time to explore some alternative controller       > options too.              Gotta love that "quality" D-pad on the 360 controller...              > -KKC, who is also digging on Oneechanbara.              I saw that, ya bastard. They announced the game, what, over a year       ago...talked about how it was going to be a straight port, just some       English subs and that was it. We're *just now* getting it. What the fuck       happened? I hear it's kind of mediocre(much like the PS2 versions), but       the videos make it seem fun. How is it?              Bel       --       Whip Ass Gaming: http://www.whipassgaming.com/              "I remember when I took that job, thinking I could fight the good fight       from the inside and you telling me about all the problems. That color       thing: Too black for the uniform, too blue for the brothers. About how       justice gets tangled up in the red tape or just bought off by the green.       You were right, fuck that job." - John Shaft, Shaft              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
