XPost: alt.sega.genesis       From: bel@whipassgaming.com              > I believe I shall sieze on the opportunity to start some on-topic       > conversation. :)       >       > Bloodlines had a different name for its EU release, didn't it?              Indeed, it's called "The New Generation".              > Does       > anybody happen to know if that release was actually coded with different       > graphics, or if the same ROM just behaves differently depending on the       > region of the console?               From what I've heard, the PAL versions of the game were censored, so       I'd assume they were a completely different rom. It's weird too, because       instead of blood in most places they change it to water...and all the       zombies bleed colors link pink and green.              > I always thought that the EU version of the cart       > would be interesting to own, especially since Bloodlines was one of the       > many carts that Majesco reissued in large numbers.              I wouldn't mind seeing the Japanese version of the game(which is said to       be easier) just for the small changes from the US version, but the       Japanese version goes for $100+ most of the time. I'll most likely just       try to the rom...              Contra: Hard Corps is the same way in Japan - Easier, but FAR more       expensive to own. What's weird is that games usually have their       difficulty toned down before coming to the US, but the Japanese actually        got the easier versions on both of these. Contra actually has life       bars, if you can believe it, which is why most people want it so badly.       Me? I've beaten it on *one* life...hard core indeed. ;)              > -KKC, who owns the EU version of Phantasy Star Online version 2 just for       > the extra bit of code.              Is there anything actually different about it?              Bel       --       Whip Ass Gaming: http://www.whipassgaming.com/              "It wasn't impossible to build rapture at the bottom of the sea, it was       impossible to build it anywhere else."        - Andrew Ryan, BioShock              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
